Women Encouraging Women

Marilyn Gates, Coordinator

Women’s Prayer Ministry

Marlynn Gaines, Coordinator

Matthew 21:13: “It is written,” He said to them, “My house will be called a house of prayer.”

The Ladies Prayer Ministry of First Baptist Snellville exists to honor God by providing prayer coverage for many different areas in the life of our Church. Opportunities for prayer exist during the worship services on Sunday morning, as well as for any major event that will take place within our Ladies Ministry, and prayer support for each area of our Ladies Ministry.

We also offer the “Moms In Touch” Prayer Ministry. Moms In Touch International is for two or more moms, or anyone who is willing to pray for one hour each week for specific children, their schools, their teachers, and administrators.

Our Prayer Ministry has partnered with our Preschool Division to begin a “New Babies Ministry”. Each new expectant mother is paired up with a prayer partner during her pregnancy so that they can pray together during this special time and during labor and delivery. If you are an expectant mother please call us and let us know, and if you would like to be a prayer partner, please let us know that as well.

Missions & Outreach

StreetWise Georgia Ministries is a non-profit 501c3 ministry that has been in existence for 23+ years serving the people of the inner city of Atlanta. God has used this ministry to meet physical, spiritual and emotional needs of people in the inner city and is now expanding the ministry to Gwinnett and Barrow counties. Along with providing clothing, food and other necessities, StreetWise hosts Bible studies and seeks to share the gospel with all who come to them for help. God has recently provided StreetWise with a facility to use which is located in Lawrenceville, GA on Cedars Road. Some of their needs include funding for the ministry as well as many volunteers to staff the facility.

Several opportunities to serve include: sorting items in the warehouse, boxing food for families, sorting clothing, front office greeter, intake volunteer and administrative duties as needed. If you are interested in volunteering, you must attend a volunteer information session as well as a training session so that you are equipped to help. The following dates are available for training.

Please contact Lori Dooly, Administrative Assistant with any questions by email or phone.

Looking for a homeschool support group with a joyous spirit? Come LAHF with us!! LAHF seeks to encourage and support families in their efforts to educate and raise godly children. We have various activities such as group meetings, field trips, play groups, socials, mission projects, mom’s night out, educational speakers, and more. Prison Ministry

Each Thursday night, volunteer teachers lead women’s Bible studies at the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Through music, prayer, and Scripture, many have come to know Jesus and/or to recommit their lives to Christ. Through a pen pal program, volunteers have a personal avenue through which to share Christ, encourage sad hearts, and bring hope. We also have an encouragement card ministry based upon specific prayer concerns of the women inmates. The lives of participating prisoners and, consequently, their families are truly being changed through this outreach. Come share in this joyous ministry. Contact us at womensministry@fbcsnell.org
