MDO Curriculum
Mother’s Day Out has a biblically based curriculum which provides a teaching topic for each week, around which we organize activities. Our activities include art, music and movement, story time, circle time and visits to the playroom.
In respect for each family and their traditions and in keeping with our biblically-based curriculum, we do not observe or teach Halloween, Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, etc. Secular characters such as Barney, Big Bird, Mickey Mouse, etc. are not used at Mother’s Day Out.
MDO Faculty and Staff
In order to keep current on new curriculum and to provide training opportunities for the Mother’s Day Out staff, we are associated with:
• Georgia Preschool Association
• Association of Church Weekday School
• DeKalb-Gwinnett Preschool Association
• Gwinnett Metro Baptist Association
Our Purpose at MDO
Mother’s Day Out partners with the parents of children ages four weeks to two years of age by providing a structured learning environment for their children. This ministry is for the development of the child and enables parents to further their personal growth.
Our program includes positive interaction with Christian teachers. Our staff is dedicated to making Mother’s Day Out a positive learning experience for young preschoolers. We want to help your child develop mentally (in wisdom), physically (in stature), spiritually (in favor with God), and socially (in favor with people), just as the Scriptures tell us Jesus did.
We also help strengthen their ability to establish healthy and meaningful relationships with children their own age, to find joy and satisfaction in creative work, to respect themselves and others and pave the way for each child to come to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord.
While the children enjoy a day at Mother’s Day Out, this provides the adult time for their own personal development. Bible study, quiet time, physical rest, social interaction with other adults, serving at other children’s school or meeting work requirements are just a few of the benefits that Mother’s Day Out provides for the adult. We as a staff want the best for all the children. Children need the adults in their lives to be taking care of themselves mentally, physically, spiritually and socially.
We are faithful to pray for every child and their family regularly. We want to minister to them in their times of need and to rejoice with them in the happy times.
