We are a full-service ministry, offering opportunities for people of any age and background. Whether you're a seasoned vocalist or if you've never sung before, there's a place for you to serve. Whether you're an experienced musician or you are just starting out, there's a place for you. If you're a skilled artist or technician, or if you just want to help out, there's a place for you. The only requirement is an open heart; open to God in worship and open to others in ministry and service.
Wednesday | 6:30 PM | Choir Room
The Celebration Choir leads our congregation in worship on a weekly basis, through both corporate singing and choir performance songs. The songs that the Celebration Choir sings are exciting and uplifting, inspiring both the mind to deeper understanding of God and the heart to greater love for God. Anyone may join the choir at any time during the year, regardless of musical experience, and learning the choir music is easy and fun. Within the choir, there are opportunities to sing solos and be a part of small group worship teams, both of which are auditioned as needed. In addition to leading worship on Sundays, the Celebration Choir participates in special Worship & Arts Presentations throughout the year, including the Christmas Worship Presentation. Come sing and worship with us on any Wednesday night at 6:30 in the Choir room.
Wednesday | 6:30 PM | Orchestra Room
The Celebration Orchestra is the musical backbone for our Sunday services. Encompassing a full range of band and orchestral instruments, the Celebration Orchestra is the place for musicians to get involved with the Worship & Arts Ministry. At First Baptist Snellville, we believe that music is not just "back-up" for singing, but that the playing of instruments is an integral expression of praise to God, as is highlighted in Bible passages such as Psalm 150. From week to week, the Celebration Orchestra plays instrumental pieces for worship, as well as providing accompaniment for corporate singing. There is no audition required to join, and musicians who are in 8th grade or higher, and who have at least 3 years of experience with their instrument, are encouraged to be a part of this exciting ministry. To join the orchestra, simply come to one of our weekly rehearsals in the Orchestra Room on Wednesday at 6:30 PM.
Crave Student Choir
Sunday | 12:15 PM | Choir Room
Crave Student Choir, one of the most exciting and energetic ministries of First Baptist Church Snellville, meets every Sunday from 12:15-1:45 PM, just after our second worship service. Crave Student Choir is open to any students, 6th grade and up. Crave Student Choir participates in the Worship & Arts Ministry special Worship Presentations, as well as leading worship on select Sunday mornings throughout the year. Once a year, the Crave Student Choir takes part in a student choir mission tour, in which the students lead worship for other churches and serve cities and communities through Worship and Arts Ministry. This mission tour is the centerpiece of the Crave Student Choir ministry, and students look forward to it all year.
Wednesday | 5:45 PM | E100
Our Children's Choirs are a graded music program for children in grades 3-5. Through Children's Choir, children learn to praise God through music by learning songs and spiritual principles in a fun, safe atmosphere. Children's Choir Musicals are a way that our children can present God's word in a relevant and engaging way. The Children's Choirs also participate in worship services, including the Worship & Arts Ministry special Worship Presentations, several times a year. Children's Choir meets on Wednesdays from 5:45-6:30 PM in E100, across from the Orchestra Room.
His Story Ensemble
Sunday | 1:30
His Story is a vocal ensemble that meets on Sundays from 1:30-2:30 p.m. This talented group of singers rehearse and perform everything from beautiful a capella pieces, to modern gospel songs. An audition is required for acceptance into His Story, and try-outs are open once a year to anyone who is already a member of the Celebration Choir. If you are singer who is interested in being a part of a fresh, exciting group of worshipers, contact the music office for more information.
Men of Praise
Wednesday | 8:00 | Choir Room
The Men of Praise is an all-volunteer men's choral club, whose purpose is to glorify God by pointing people to Jesus Christ through musical presentations of the gospel. The Men of Praise carry out this purpose by singing and ministering to churches in and around North and Middle Georgia. Since 2006, the Men of Praise, led by Lawton Roberts, have ministered to countless churches, primarily through Sunday night concerts and worship events.
Every week at First Baptist Snellville, there is a team of 12-15 volunteers running lights, cameras, sound and video equipment, and taking care of an array of other technical aspects of our Sunday morning worship services. The goal of the Media Ministry is to remove distractions and to foster an environment where people can worship freely and hear the Word of God preached. We are always looking for more volunteers, who are technologically-minded and have a heart for service, to help in this vital ministry of our church.
Our Dinner Theatre ministry, which centers around musical Dinner Theatre productions, is the evangelistic outreach arm of the Worship & Arts Ministry. The cast and crew for these shows, made up of over a hundred volunteers, invest hours and hours of hard (but fun) work to make Dinner Theatre a success. Each year, the Dinner Theatre ministry has grown, and thousands of people from our community come out to see the wonderful acting, singing, sets, costumes, music and special effects. Every person in attendance also hears a presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, making Dinner Theatre one of First Baptist Snellville's largest outreach events all year. There are so many ways in which you could get involved with Dinner Theatre. From acting to painting set pieces, from doing make-up to running lights, there's a place for you to serve and make a difference through the Dinner Theatre ministry.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift
of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
